2010 Conference Keynote Speakers

MONDAY LUNCH PRESENTATION:

Still using words like 'Hopefully' and 'Support'
and 'Earn'? Uh-oh.

HGLHerschell Gordon Lewis
President
Lewis Enterprises

We all know the difference between "Can you help us?" and "Will you help us?" But how about the difference between "We need help," "They need help," and "Help" ... or "In the event of your death" and "If you should die" ... or "You're headed for trouble" and "Are you headed for trouble?"

These are just easy examples of principles that exemplify how word selection can increase -- or decrease -- response by a huge percentage. (On a primitive level, just compare "undocumented immigrant" with "illegal alien.")

With unflagging good humor and lightning-fast pace, this presentation is designed to maximize response to our appeals in the brutally-competitive e-mail-driven 21st century fundraising ambience. Four simple and obvious "Great Laws" can assure impact. It's as easy as that, as you'll see.
